Focus on the Family to Release Adventures in Odyssey Music Albums

'Eugene Sings!' Debuts Shortly After the Popular Character Returns to the Series

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting in July 2005, the long-running Christian radio series, Adventures in Odyssey, will release a series of music albums featuring fictional character Eugene. Eugene Sings! will be released after the popular character made his return to Odyssey this spring, generating increased ratings for Adventures in Odyssey.

"Bringing Eugene back is something our fans have begged us to do for a long time," said Executive Producer Dave Arnold. "The show has a radio audience of over 1 million, and you can't just have a character disappear for five years without them noticing." During Eugene's absence, Focus on the Family, the organization behind the series, received calls and letters almost daily asking, "Will Eugene ever return?"

The concept of a music album is new to the series. The idea began as the brainchild of Will Ryan, whose resume includes 17 years as the voice of boy genius Eugene and voice acting in such films as The Land Before Time. Ryan has written songs for Mickey Mouse, Patti LaBelle, the Cat in the Hat -- and now Eugene! Eugene Sings!, the first music release to come from Odyssey, will be released in July.

"Will is an incredibly creative person," Arnold said. "Not only does he sing the songs, but he wrote all of them, and they fit the character of Eugene and the world of Odyssey perfectly."
