The 'Conservative Alternative' to Ben & Jerry's Makes its Second Gift to a Pro-Military Organization

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Star Spangled Ice Cream, the conservative alternative to Ben & Jerry's, will donate $1,000 to the Navy League of the United States during the annual TalkFest radio talk show convention May 20, 2005 at the Ted Constant Center on the campus of Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.

"Star Spangled proudly donates 10 percent of its profits to charities that support the great men and women of America's armed forces," said company Vice President Richard Lessner.

Retail flavors are available at Farm Fresh supermarkets in Richmond, Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach and other cities in tidewater Virginia and North Carolina.

The upstart ice cream company launched retail sales earlier this year with six flavors: Iraqi Road, Navy BattleCHIP, Fightin' Marines Tough Cookies & Cream, G.I. Love Chocolate, Air Force PLANE Vanilla and Smaller GovernMINT.
