Sinclair Announces Station Management Changes
BALTIMORE, May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:SBGI) announced today that Dan Mellon has been named General Manager for WSYX-TV (ABC 6) in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Mellon will also be responsible for oversight of WTTE-TV (FOX 28), which is programmed by Sinclair under a time brokerage agreement. Separately, the Company announced that John Quiqley has been named Group Manager and Director of Station Affairs and will be responsible for oversight of Sinclair's Asheville, NC/Greenville, SC and Springfield/Champaign, IL markets, as well as special projects. The announcements were made by Steve Marks, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair's television group.
In making the announcements, Mr. Marks said, "Dan is an excellent General Manager with a proven track record at managing both traditional and non- traditional affiliates. He most recently managed our Sacramento station, a high-margin CBS affiliate in the 19th DMA, which we recently sold to Viacom at a very attractive multiple. We are excited to have him oversee the Columbus ABC and FOX stations and give him the opportunity to run our largest market."
Mr. Marks continued, "John Quigley has served with the Company for 20 years in various capacities, including station oversight and special projects. He has a history of success at this level, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to utilize his skills on a broader platform."

Mr. Mellon has served as General Manager for Sinclair's Sacramento station, KOVR-TV (CBS 13), since 2001. Prior to that and from 1998, he was the General Manager of Sinclair's station, KMWB-TV (WB 23), in Minneapolis. From 1994 to 1998, he served as Director of Sales and as National Sales Manager for various CBS television station groups. Prior to that and since 1985, Mr. Mellon worked for several companies where he served as sales manager and account executive. Mr. Mellon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pace University in New York.
Mr. Quigley has served as the General Manager for Sinclair's Columbus station, WSYX-TV (ABC 6), and had oversight for WTTE-TV (FOX 28) since 2001. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of Sinclair's FOX affiliate in Richmond, WRLH-TV (FOX 35), beginning in April 2000. From November 1999 to 2000, he was Vice President for Sinclair Ventures, a subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group and, prior to that, was a Regional Director in the Television division since 1996. From 1985 to 1996, he served as General Manager of WTTE- TV in Columbus, Ohio. He began his broadcast career at WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1973. He spent nine years with Scripps Howard Broadcasting in various management positions and also worked at Lionheart Television International as Vice President and Syndication Manager of the Midwest Region.
