Rockapella to perform with Boston Pops May 13 & 14
WORCESTER, Mass., May 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Paid, Inc.'s (BULLETIN BOARD: PAYD) Celebrity Services division, has signed an exclusive agreement with Rockapella, the kings of contemporary a cappella music, to create and manage all aspects of the group's official fan club, including a new fan club web site, online marketing initiatives, merchandising programs, fan experience events, and fan club tour ticketing. Rockapella, a five-man powerhouse whose sound has become an infectious blend of soul, rock, r&b, and jazz, is largely responsible for the huge interest in vocal music in Japan and the emergence of "contemporary" a cappella music in the U.S.

Coincidentally, Rockapella will be performing in Paid's home area of Boston as the group returns to play its annual engagement with the Boston Pops on May 13 & 14. Rockapella first came to the attention of most American households with their theme music for "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" which ran for five seasons on PBS. Rockapella tours the U.S. and Japan nearly year round, with 60-100 shows per year in addition to performing for most major television shows, on radio broadcasts nationwide and in numerous commercials for major national brands such as Folgers, Hertz Rent-A-Car, Budweiser and Taco Bell. The group recently contracted with a German-based concert promoter and anticipates expanding to Europe in early 2006. Rockapella has numerous albums to its credit including the latest, "Live in Japan," released in 2004, "Smilin'" (2003), and "Comfort & Joy" (2003). Their extremely popular holiday music has been featured on American Airlines, CBS News, CNN's "Daily Buzz," "The Jane Pauley Show," "The Tonight Show" and numerous radio stations across the country. The band currently is working on a new album which is expected to debut in late 2005 or early 2006.

The Band Members
As the longest-term veteran of the group, Scott Leonard's soaring vocals and songwriting prowess have played major roles in shaping Rockapella's characteristic sound. In late 1992, Rockapella tried something that almost no singing group had ever considered before: they held auditions for a full-time mouth drummer, or "vocal percussionist" to begin performing, fully amplified, alongside them just like a real drummer. Jeff Thacher joined the group in this role shortly afterward, and soon his amazingly drum-like oral talents appeared throughout their recordings and on "Carmen Sandiego," pioneering a future wave of young mouth drummers who today continue to study his unique talents and style. Kevin Wright's smooth tenor voice and soulful style light up Rockapella's upper range sound and super-bass George Baldi adds a rich soulful bass voice, remarkable solo range and overall top notch musicianship. The impressive talents of newest member John Brown bring an exciting new edge to the trademark Rockapella sound and open the group's next chapter of fantastic music-making.
