Freedom Flight, a Comedy Starring a Fidel Castro Character and Celebrated in The Latin Community, Is a Hit!

MIAMI, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Freedom Flight, a full-length feature film starring a Fidel Castro character, is headed for national distribution following its successful introduction to sell-out audiences in the South Florida Latin community.

Freedom Flight is a comedy about a young man who is escaping Cuba in search of freedom and reuniting with his son who lives in Miami, Florida. What he doesn't know is that the airplane he is escaping in is full of State Security and the pilot is Fidel Castro. See http://www.freedomflightthemovie.com/ .

Writer Luis de la Paz from Diario Las Americas calls it an "excellent Comedy ... and without a doubt, a first-class movie that no one should miss!"

Freedom Flight was written, directed and produced by two South Florida real estate investors turned moviemakers and was made possible by a Universal Studios (Orlando, Florida) prize that was earned during the fifth annual "Collaboration...A Short Film Contest" hosted by the Entertainment Industry Incubator in Miami Beach in which "La Playa," a 5-minute short, ended up taking Best Film and Best Editor awards in the professional category.

"The majority of our cast and crew is well-known locally and we feel the story we have to tell will have a significant impact with the Latin community throughout the world and will resonate with the general public as well," says Victor Barron, its Executive Producer.

This low-budget independent film, which took approximately 2 years to bring to the big screen, was made using Panavision production equipment and was shot in a record-setting 6 days with a Panasonic AG-DVX100 24P Mini-DV Digital Camera.

Freedom Flight was previewed at the 21st Annual Chicago Latino Film Festival on April 15 and 16, 2005, and attracted wonderful praise by the paying public who viewed the film at Landmark's Century Centre Cinema.

International distribution rights are under discussion.
