Comcast Reaffirms Its Commitment to the Communities It Serves With More Than $93,000 in Pledged Contributions to Mile High United Way

Comcast Employees Contribute Nearly $46,000 to the Mile High United Way, in Addition to $48,000 in Grants From The Comcast Foundation

DENVER, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Mile High United Way has received more than $93,000 in Comcast employee contributions and grants funded through The Comcast Foundation for the 2004 fundraising campaign. Mile High United Way, made up of approximately 90 community-based organizations, works to improve people's lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Comcast Corporation, the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, has been a part of United Way's National Corporate Leadership Program since 2003, although the partnership can be traced back to Comcast's earliest days as a company.

"The long and successful relationship between Comcast and United Way stems from our shared commitment to have a positive and measurable impact in the communities we serve," said Patrick O'Hare, Vice President of Engineering and Operations for Comcast's West Division. "Through the Comcast United Way partnership, our employees are helping people, changing places for the better and empowering progress all across our country -- community by community."

Comcast's contribution will benefit Mile High United Way by providing more resources to effectively address needs in the areas in which Comcast employees live and work. Needs include helping to ensure young children are ready for kindergarten, youth are safe, healthy and successful, and people have a place to go in times of need. It represents a significant increase in both dollars raised and employee participation over 2003 levels, making it the most successful Mile High United Way campaign in Comcast Colorado history.

Comcast contributions help Mile High United Way's Community Care Fund provide the public valuable services like:

* 2-1-1, a three-digit dial code for the public to call in Colorado to
both get and give help

* Lights on After School!, a partnership keeping DPS middle school
students in positive environments between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m.

* Transformational Housing, a project enabling working families to save
for a down payment on a house

"Comcast demonstrates great commitment to United Way and its mission," said Richard Gonzales, V.P. Community Relations, Mile High United Way. "Comcast contributes in many ways that have a positive impact on local communities. We are very pleased that Comcast is investing in the work of Mile High United Way and commend all the employees of Comcast who volunteer annually."

In addition to its financial contribution, Comcast will continue to provide airtime for public service announcements to bring increased awareness and visibility to the United Way mission, and to thank Comcast employees for their generosity.
