Greenlight Breaks Into US Market
LONDON, January 28/PRNewswire/ -- London-based search engine marketing agency, Greenlight, is expanding
into the US with the opening of a new office in New York, in February. The
New York operation will initially be headed up by Greenlight's CEO, Warren
Cowan, who founded Greenlight three years ago, until a full-time US MD is
recruited.
Cowan will launch the agency's US arm at New York's Search Engine
Strategies conference from 28 February to 3 March 05. His primary targets
will be large retail organisations and as well as setting up operations to
service the US arms of its existing UK and European clients.
Cowan believes that one of the biggest opportunity lies in the US retail
sector, which is relatively sophisticated in its purchase of search engine
optimisation, but still faces specific technical problems: "There's a line
for search engine optimisation in most US companies' budgets," he says. "But,
many retailers' websites are still not designed to be effective with search
engines. Greenlight has proprietary technology and methodologies that it uses
to make websites much more efficient for SEO without disrupting the working
site. The process of doing this is highly scalable and can be deployed
rapidly, which means we can enter new markets without the same level of risk
that other SEO companies would face."
