Software Council of Southern California Announces Call for 2005 Software Industry Awards Nominations
Eleventh Annual Awards Event Honors Individuals and Companies Instrumental to Technology Innovation in Southern California; 2005 Awards Also Recognize CIO of the Year
TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Software Council of Southern California today issued a call for nominations for the organization's eleventh annual Software Industry Awards. The awards are presented to individuals and companies that have made extraordinary contributions to the growth of Southern California as a center for technological innovation.
The nominees for the 2005 event will compete for one of six awards: Software CEO of the Year, Software Company of the Year, Software Entrepreneur of the Year, Software Services Company of the Year, Software Developer of the Year and CIO of the Year. CIO of the Year is a new award category and is open to CIOs from any company headquartered in Southern California.
Nominations must be received by January 28, 2005. Nominees do not need to be a member of the Software Council, but must be headquartered in Southern California. Full details of the nomination process and award criteria can be found on the Software Council Website, www.scsc.org.
"The Software Industry Awards is our way of highlighting the continuing growth and innovation of the Southern California technology community," said Richard Koffler, president-elect of the Software Council. "The finalists and award winners are the leaders in our region's software industry, and we look forward to honoring their achievements during our awards ceremony."
Category winners from the 2004 Awards include CEO of the Year, George Klaus, CEO of Epicor Corporation; Entrepreneur of the Year Gene Wang, CEO of Bitfone Corporation; Software Developer of the Year, Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc.; Software Company of the Year, SYSPRO; and Software Services Company of the Year, Expertcity, Inc.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner ceremony to be held March 3, 2005 at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Presented by the Software Council, the awards are sponsored by CJ Patrick Company, Dorsey & Whitney, Ruder Finn and Silicon Valley Bank.
