Local Police Department Demonstrates New Community Alert System
Localized Alert System Reaches Community Members on Digital Devices
WHAT: Using SCAN USA's alert system, the first specifically designed
for neighborhood and community alerts, the Bell Gardens Police
Department (BGPD) will demonstrate how it can broadcast
emergency alert information directly to the computers, mobile
phones and PDAs of its citizens with the SCAN technology and
service. People can receive important information on their
digital devices with warnings such as terrorism threats, local
crime, sexual predators, Amber alerts, public health risks and
safety tips during the holidays.
