For the Multimedia, Made-to-Order Generation: Create-Your-Own SAT Practice Quizzes and Cell Phone Test Prep

NEW YORK, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Teenagers accustomed to the personalized selection of MP3 playlists and Tivo'ed television schedules can now similarly personalize their SAT practice. Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions today unveiled its SAT QuizBank -- the first SAT quick-training tool that enables students to create their own SAT-like quizzes tailored to their academic needs, personal schedule and preferences.

Drawing from over 1,000 authentic SAT questions, SAT QuizBank is the only personalized SAT quiz builder available. The Kaplan test prep tool allows users to customize quizzes online based on subject area, level of difficulty and number of questions. SAT QuizBank users can also elect whether or not to activate timing, show hints or explanations, or allow repeat questions. In-depth progress tracking and score reporting options enable users to see how well they are doing in each section, and compare the results with past performances.

Also new from the world leader in test preparation is Kaplan Mobile SAT/PSAT-ACT 2005, a downloadable test prep resource for cellular phones and PDAs. Developed in partnership with Handmark, a leading developer and publisher of software for smart mobile devices, Kaplan Mobile SAT/PSAT-ACT 2005 incorporates the broadest array of study formats available, providing strategies, practice tools, and fun prep challenges in the form of games students can play on their own or with others, quizzes, practice tests and other interactive options.

The most technologically advanced mobile SAT prep product available, Kaplan Mobile SAT/PSAT-ACT 2005 includes over 1,200 questions and tips to prepare for the new SAT. It is compatible with nearly all smartphone and PDA devices and operating systems, including Palm OS-powered devices, Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and smartphones, as well as Symbian, BREW and Java mobile phones.

"We've adapted our materials to address three major traits of today's teens: they're media sophisticates, they have busy schedules, and they are accustomed to personalized options," said Jon Zeitlin, General Manager, Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. "As student needs have evolved over the years, Kaplan has always sought to give our students options to learn in the way that suits them best. Our new offerings continue nearly 70 years of Kaplan tradition in providing resources for busy students that all make test prep as convenient as possible while making the most of current media."
