Pittsburgh Technology Council Calls for Nominations for 2004 CIO of the Year Awards
Event to Honor Innovative Technology Executives throughout the Region
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pittsburgh Technology Council is calling for nominations for chief information officers and senior ranking information technology executives in the 13 counties of southwestern Pennsylvania to be considered for honors at its premier technology executive recognition event, the Pittsburgh CIO of the Year Awards.
Co-hosted by the Pittsburgh Technology Council and the Greater Pittsburgh CIO Group, the CIO of the Year Awards program honors individual technology executives from industry, non-profit, academia and government. Nominees, including chief information officers or those in equivalent positions, are recognized for their innovation and creativity in planning and deploying their enterprise systems, future IT goals, management philosophy and service to the industry and community.
The CIO of the Year Awards will be presented on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Heinz History Center. Finalists and winners also will be featured in TEQ magazine following the celebration.
Any individual holding a senior ranking IT position may be nominated, although the company must be located or hold subsidiary operations within the 13-county southwestern Pennsylvania area, which includes Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.
In addition, nominees must meet the following requirements for eligibility:
-- Have a minimum of three years of IT executive experience
-- Possess primary responsibility for the technical performance of
his/her organization
-- Demonstrate innovative and effective technology leadership in support
of the strategic initiatives of his/her organization
-- Represent the highest standards of leadership in information
technology
-- Garner the respect of his/her peers and employees
Four award categories, based on company size, have been distinguished, as follows:
-- Growth (for organizations with fewer than 100 employees)
-- Enterprise (for organizations between 100 and 500 employees)
-- Global (for organizations of more than 500 employees)
-- Non-Profit (for non-profit organizations of any size)

The Greater Pittsburgh CIO Group and the Bayer Center for Non-Profit Management have partnered with the Pittsburgh Technology Council to present the annual awards and event.
