Singapore and Mumbai based Cosmos-Maya, Asia's leading animation studio has achieved a
milestone of sorts for the animation business as a whole, by being the largest producer of
original Indian animation content consistently over the past four years. The company has
consolidated its leadership position and the northward march continues. With 5 TV shows
currently on air, and 3 more shows under production for a launch later this year, the

It all began with Motu Patlu, the studio's first original Indian IP that was launched
in 2012 on Nickelodeon. Apart from being one of the most popular shows in the kids'
entertainment category, Motu Patlu also holds a record of having a large content bank
within a very short duration of time.

almost 500 episodes and almost 10 TV special features all of which have received a lot of

The association that began with Motu Patlu was further strengthened with Shiva, which
launched during Diwali last year. Another runaway success for the Viacom18 and Cosmos-Maya

Slapstick chase comedies are their forte and with Eena Meena Deeka, their second show
airing on the Hungama channel from the Disney stable, Cosmos-Maya created a first of its
kind non-dialogue chase comedy that is currently running in its second season. Written by
American, Canadian and British writers, the show has been a major success in the overseas
market and being one of the first Indian shows to crossover in major European markets like
France, Germany among others; and a debut in the highly-coveted North American market is
on the cards. "With Motu Patlu and Shiva we have strengthened our foothold in India and
with Eena Meena Deeka we have widened the geographies of our operations and the show has

Their other shows include ViR - The Robot Boy that airs again on Hungama and Kisna
that airs on Discovery Kids. With 3 seasons currently on air, the next step for ViR are
the TV features, the first in the lot being ViR Ka Mahasangram premiered on Holi this year
and there is more in store. With two seasons delivered, Kisna is a key show in the
Discovery Kids stable and every special holiday generally has a massive roadblock of the
show on the channel.
