WARREN, Mich., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Television and radio fitness personality Peter Nielsen will be the keynote speaker at the second annual Work-Life Expo on Friday, August 12, 2005. The Expo is presented by the Michigan Business and Professional Association and will be held at the Burton Manor in Livonia from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Neilsen is a popular motivational speaker, author and three-time Fitness Trainer of the Year. Detroit area audiences have enjoyed his "Peter's Principles" segments on WDIV-TV4 and on WWJ-AM950 for several years.

Nielsen's career has focused on teaching the principles of nutrition, exercise and personal discipline and communicating the potential benefits that a healthy lifestyle can bring to anyone's life -- career, family, relationships, personal appearance and longevity.

Also speaking at the Work-Life Expo is Michigan Representative John Pastor (R-District 19).

The event will feature two panel discussions. The first panel, held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., is "Eldercare and Working Families: Present and Future Challenges." This presentation will focus on eldercare issues being faced by working families and employers. Sherry Webb, manager of the Adult Day Care center at Providence Hospital, will moderate the panel. Panelists include:

The afternoon panel, "Age Diversity and Communication: A Perspective from Today's Youth," will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. This panel features a group of nine metro Detroit young people as they frankly discuss age diversity and how it presents communication challenges at home and in the community.

The Work-Life Expo will also feature exhibitors offering products and services that represent a mixture of event sponsors, providers of work-life services and products, and youth organizations.
